John Wilburn “Jack” Lomax, Jr., of Doniphan, Missouri, died Friday, June 22, 2012, at Cedargate Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mr. Lomax, son of the late John W. and Arvenia (Whitwell) Lomax, Sr., was born April 8, 1918, in Chinook, Montana. He was raised in Pine, Missouri. Mr. Lomax was a retired plumber and a member of the Church of Christ in Doniphan.
On June 26, 1989, he was married to Elaine Ballard. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2008.
Surviving is one sister, Arline Arnold of Hollister, Missouri; two nieces, June (and Ray) Ross of Omaha, Arkansas, and Deborah (and Vitet {Mo}) Kantabutra of Pocatello, Idaho; one nephew, Glen (and Terry) Arnold of Union, Missouri; and several cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, June 27, 2012, starting at 1:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery with Steve Sanders officiating.
