Dorothy Evelyn Russell Tucker, 99, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, departed this life Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Cedargate Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Tucker, daughter of Ed and Pearl Belle (Hager) Yarber, was born October 29, 1916, in Gatewood, Missouri. She had worked in the cafeteria of a factory and enjoyed cooking and singing. She was known by all her family as a wonderful cook and always liked to prepare food for her loved ones and friends. Mrs. Tucker attended the Church of God. On February 10, 1940, she was married to Jeral L. Russell in Poplar Bluff, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1965. Surviving are 2 children, Glenna (and Allan) Travis of Liverpool, New York, and Jeral L. Russell of Waterford, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Mark (Bernadette) Travis, Scott (Katie) Travis, Spencer Russell and Lewis Russell; 3 great-grandchildren, Rowan, Emily and Ethan; and a special friend, Viola Russell of Waterford, Michigan. Mrs. Tucker was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Vera Belle Russell, and siblings Herman Yarber, Bertha Reed, Jewel Reed, Marie Smith, Cleo Yarbrough, Johnny Yarber, Otis Yarber and Essie DeRouse. Visitation for Mrs. Tucker will take place Monday evening, November 23, 2015, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will start Tuesday morning, November 24, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery. All of Mrs. Tucker's extended family would like to thank the Cedargate Nursing Center family for the love and care extended to Mrs. Tucker.
